Today, economic efficiency is often achieved using the right business applications. This applies especially in procurement. However, the digitalization of procurement processes still has some catching up to do, as recently revealed in a survey conducted by Onventis in collaboration with the Association of Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) The survey polled 240 businesses about their strategic planning, as well as investments in purchasing and procurement. The results: The desire for digitalization is high, but implementation is lacking in many areas.

“Digitalization and the cloud are inextricably linked – as business models and processes change, software and IT processes must also change,” says Frank Schmidt, Managing Director of Onventis in Stuttgart. Until recently, and especially in mid-sized businesses, new technologies have been greeted with a certain amount of skepticism.
However, a clear trend trend could be seen here, because cloud services represent a cost-effective and flexible alternative compared to traditional in-house solutions Companies such as Onventis have been convincing companies for years with agile and intelligent solutions made in germany, which securely move procurement processes to the cloud. “Whether it’s for corporations or medium-sized companies – IT landscapes will become increasingly complex and soon dominated by the cloud.”
Innovation cycles in the area of software would thus become ever shorter, while the requirements for the in-house IT infrastructure continue to increase. “Our solution not only supports end-to-end workflows in strategic and operational supply chain management, but together with our housing partner ecotel from Frankfurt, we also offer fast, flexible and, above all, secure access to a cloud-based virtual server environment.”
