Onventis offers the first end-to-end e-procurement integration for Amazon Business in Germany
Onventis GmbH, the Stuttgart-based provider of e-procurement solutions, is integrating Amazon Business into the cloud-based procurement software TradeCore. This means that with immediate effect companies can now operationally procure in particular C items from Amazon Business while complying with company-specific procurement guidelines, approval processes and budget specifications. Through TradeCore, buyers have access to more than 100 million products on Amazon Business Germany.
Onventis has developed a TradeCore adapter for compliant B2B purchasing from Amazon Business; this forms the base of operational order processing by Amazon Business from TradeCore. The TradeCore adapter was developed on a collaborative basis with selected pilot customers from industry.
With TradeCore, Onventis is offering the first certified end-to-end e-procurement integration for Amazon Business Germany. TradeCore is listed on the Amazon Business website as a supported procurement system. The TradeCore Amazon adapter not only supports a cXML PunchOut from TradeCore for the entire Amazon product range, as well as feedback from the shopping cart to the approval and order processing workflows in TradeCore — the integration also includes automated documentation data exchange for transmitting orders from TradeCore to Amazon and the order confirmation from Amazon to TradeCore. As TradeCore is seamlessly integrated into its customers’ ERP systems, Onventis presents a complete end-to-end integrated solution for B2B procurement processes via Amazon Business. In Germany, Amazon Business is willing to accept payments on account as well as by credit card.
The TradeCore Amazon adapter is already available as Amazon Business begins operations in Germany, and can now be used by all TradeCore customers free of charge.
Profitable Fusion of E-Procurement and a Leading E-Commerce Platform
Onventis customers will see their procurement processes benefit from two intuitive websites with comprehensive services and functionality, as the convenient Amazon customer experience combines with end-to-end e-procurement processes in TradeCore. “Connecting to Amazon Business offers our customers fantastic added value. We are integrating many of the functions of Amazon Business into the structured procurement process and at the same time drastically reducing the rate of maverick buying within companies,” enthuses Frank Schmidt, CEO of Onventis.
Greater Transparency — Less Maverick Buying
The integration of orders from Amazon Business into the regular procurement process prevents uncontrolled purchasing by specialist departments. As a market average, around 14 percent of the entire purchasing volume is still processed in this way. Maverick buying is particularly widespread for items that are required only rarely. According to the BME survey “Key Performance Indicators in Purchasing”, the percentage of brokered purchasing volumes in these sectors is only around 20 to 25 percent. The advantages of the adapter are clear: Purchasing departments can cover the requirements of employees through Amazon Business, while TradeCore ensures that the company-specific procurement guidelines for orders via Amazon Business are adhered to consistently.
