Onventis Customer Event „Xchange“ – Connecting Buyer & Supplier

Stuttgart, November 3, 2017 – The annual professional e-procurement conference of the Stuttgart cloud procurement provider Onventis was held this year in Schwaebisch Gmuend. In line with the motto „Connecting Buyer & Supplier,“ participants from a wide variety of industries came together at „Manufaktur B26,” a unique event location on the site of a former pump manufacturer. Numerous developments and innovations in B2B purchasing, e-procurement and cloud networks were presented. Customer talks on concrete application scenarios were also well-attended. Well-known Onventis partners such as, e.g., Conrad, Amazon Business, Staples and Würth supported the event.

„We have had a very successful year with an above-average number of new customer acquisitions and trendsetting innovations,“ said satisfied Onventis CEO Frank Schmidt at the opening of the two-day event. „The Xchange event is our chance to thank all of our customers and partners for collaborating with us, and offer our guests an exclusive glimpse into current trends and coming innovations from Onventis.“

In addition to the talks, networking and personal knowledge transfer were in focus at the event. Heiko Rumpl, director of professional services & consulting at Onventis, emphasized: „Our motto ‚Connecting Buyer & Supplier‘ has been implemented this year by giving our purchasers and suppliers the opportunity to personally share experiences and knowledge. We are convinced that real value can only be created through cross-company collaboration and cooperation.“

Networking for centralized procurement processes
Networking and collaboration have been deciding factors in the newest development at Onventis. Onventis Senior Product Manager Jonas Kluge explained this in his presentation „Cloud Procurement Network,“ and presented the new „Onventis Supplier Portal“ in which each supplier will have centralized access to all business dealings in the Onventis Network. Further, in the near future, purchasers will be able to search for appropriate suppliers and connect with them simply and securely.

„We are leading our company through the digitalization transition and can help you digitalize your procurement processes by connecting data and information with each other to create unique value,“ said Onventis CEO Frank Schmidt about the Onventis platform strategy.

Customers presented concrete application scenarios
The closely interwoven relationship between e-procurement providers and the user community was demonstrated in numerous guest talks: Fabian Rosenwick, project manager at ENGIE Deutschland GmbH, reported on the most recent successful implementation of the Onventis e-procurement solution, and the resulting increase in process savings in the Facility Services, a highly-relevant area for ENGIE. The energy provider wants to expand the cloud platform to other business areas, suppliers, and services.

Automotive supplier Federal-Mogul profits from Onventis Buyer
The presentation on Onventis Buyer by Federal-Mogul, a global automotive supplier from the Detroit area, was highly anticipated. The company owns more than 100 business worldwide, and has 53,000 employees. Their special challenge was the parallel implementation of the cloud-based solution at three locations. With Onventis support, this was achieved in only eight months.

Electronic giant gives a glimpse behind the scenes
The lecture by Ales Drabek, chief disruption & digital officer of the electronic mail-order business, and long-term Onventis partner, Conrad, was also of great interest to the event guests. With nine-million monthly Web site visits and ca. 120 million sent articles annually, the family-owned business is a lighthouse in B2B e-commerce. „Since 2014, Conrad Electronik has offered its customers Onventis solutions for process optimization via Conrad Smart Procure,“ noted Mr. Drabek, Conrad Elektronik. The user-friendly solution is currently in use in many European countries, and has been used by several hundred customers for process optimization.

Xcellence Award for innovative customers
Another highlight of the event was the Onventis Xcellence Award ceremony. This year, the prize in the category „Innovation & Development“ was awarded to WashTec, the worldwide leading provider of innovative solutions in car washing, with 1,700 employees. Schott AG, one of the largest producers of technical glass and glass articles, worldwide, was recognized for 15 years of cloud procurement with Onventis solutions in 30 locations in 15 countries.
