Review of the 54th Symposium Purchasing & Logistics: Onventis live in Berlin
November 11, 2019 | News
Under the motto “#pacesetter!” the 54th Symposium Purchasing and Logistics took place from 13th to 15th November in Berlin. This year, Onventis again exhibited at Europe’s largest buyers congress. Around 1,800 buyers, logistics experts and supply chain managers discussed and networked on the opportunities and risks of industry 4.0.
The highlights from the 2019 program
Carsten Maschmeyer, financial investor, entrepreneur, consultant & author, explained in the opening plan under the title “Pacesetter Germany? Ideas and founders wanted! The future belongs to those who take it into their hands” – the entrepreneurial orientation in digitization. He is convinced that out-of-the-box digitalization with external service providers will become the decisive factor for purchasing.
Economic philosopher Anders Indes gave a lecture about “Quantum Economy. What comes after digitalization? “We must speak in view of the global threats and the impending climatic collapse, about the relationship between humans and technology much more intensively?” In particular, he expressed the view that society’s way of thinking must change in order to best understand digitisation. It is normal to make mistakes, because this is the only way we can learn from them and conclude correctly.
Christian Lindner, Chairman of the FDP, warned in his lecture on the subject of “Future Offensive Economy” that bureaucracy is slowing down the development of technologies. The state must rely more on engineers and technicians here.
E-Procurement Networking with Onventis
Not only the technical lectures offered impulses for thought and discussion possibilities, also with the numerous discussions at the Onventis stand D01 ideas for the digital future in the purchase were intensively exchanged.
As the leading Open Procurement Network for medium-sized companies, the symposium is an integral part of our event calendar. Together with our specialist team from sales, product management and marketing, we were able to give a broad audience of interested purchasing managers and existing customers a personal insight into our 360-degree solution portfolio – including the innovative networking possibilities and features on our procurement platform.

This year’s top innovations of the application include efficient automation through “dynamic account assignment determination”. In addition, visitors received a first official preview of the latest survey results of the “Einkaufsbarometer Mittelstand 2019”. The study was conducted in cooperation with the BME e.V. and the ESB Business School. Among 272 buyers, the success factors of digital procurement in medium-sized companies were determined.
The 2019 study will soon be available for download at onventis.de/einkaufsbarometer.
Meet us next year live in Duesseldorf at the BME SOLUTION DAYS on 24 & 25 March 2020!
